Bites {For Your Face}: Homemade Facial Scrub

When I started getting into the blog and Twitter scene, I retweeted this great article via Sassybella that has tons of recipes for various kinds of facial scrubs. I'm a big believer in exfoliation (my skin craves it!), but not a big believer in paying a lot for it, so last week I made an oatmeal scrub that was divine. My skin felt hydrated; my pores were sufficiently scrubbed out; and with oatmeal, lemon juice and yogurt as ingredients, it was like putting a parfait on my face.

The only thing I need to tweak is grinding up the oats more than I did to get them more evenly distributed (see last photo), but for about $4, I've got what I need to make scrub for weeks and weeks to come!

Oatmeal Scrub {via Sassybella}
Makes one application

1 Tbsp. ground oatmeal (use steel cut oats, not instant)
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. yogurt

Combine and apply.

Optional: Let your scrub double as a mask! Let it sit a few minutes before scrubbing and rinsing.

There are lots more combinations in that article, like milk & honey, and rose almond, that I'd love to try. You should, too, and let me know how it turns out!
