Style Spots: Antiquing in Orange

This past Saturday the other ladies of Bay Street and I headed to Orange, Calif., for some serious antiquing. If you live in SoCal and haven't yet been to this little town, you must pay a visit. There's loads of antique stores & local eateries, and it's a great way to take a break from L.A. and all its madness.

Here's the loot I happily toted home...

A beautiful avocado green scale I'm hoping to use as a display piece if I make it into any craft fair in the Lou this year...

Some old & adorable owl wrapping paper! Still deciding whether or not to let it loose to the Etsy store...

Ceramic animal-head wall hooks. Not antique, but definitely feeds my love of animal-related decor.

A family of brass geese to hang on the wall (or perhaps yours if they make it to Etsy!)...

And, finally, my favorite find and last-minute impulse buy: an old wooden clamp that has so much rustic goodness about it...

I'm thinking of hanging it on the wall and using it as a shelf. Now I just have to wait for the wall!

I'm also excited to announce that this will be the first post I'm linking to "Thrift Share Monday," which was kindly started by Selena of Apron Thrift Girl. Head over there to see what other goodies have been thrifted this weekend!

  1. Woah, that's a beautiful haul. I love how it's got an animal/gold/white theme! My favorite find is the owl wrapping paper, but the gold geese and ceramic animal heads are also fascinating treasures!

  2. Those animal hooks are cute! They remind me of the characters in Charlotte's Web. And the Libra in me LOVES that scale as well!

  3. Van: Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about that wrapping paper. Have to be selective with what it's used for!

Bounty Huntress: Yay for Libras (I'm one, too!). I'm sure the Earth would totter off its axis without us. :)

  5. I Love the wrapping paper, too.. I could see it as a backboard liner for an old while particle board bookcase, just to give it some oomph!
