Sustainable Style: Eco-Friendly Packaging by Ben Huttly

Can you imagine going to your local grocery store and seeing all the vegetables adorned with this packaging? I can; it would be amazing! And these labels aren't just for eye candy, either. They were designed by Ben Huttly, an art student in the UK, to be 100% biodegradable (including the 100% natural cotton twine), and they include seeds of the vegetable its packaging, encouraging buyers to grow their own supply. They're also printed using a laser cut machine, which eliminates the use of harmful inks.

His inspiration for this project comes from a simple question: "How can I inspire people to start growing fruit and vegetables at home?" I think I love his answer.

What say you?

  1. I say that's incredibly cool! Aesthetically and environmentally.
