Style Spots: The Long Haul

Happy, happy Monday! Y'all are almost through that workday, and then it's time to play! I've been a busy little bee, editing my heart away today and writing articles. But I finally found a moment to take a break and share my thrifty finds from the weekend with you!

My mom and I were out all day long. The first part of the day was spent hopping around to various estate sales, mostly in the West County area. After that we stopped by a couple antique malls, two mid-century stores, Michaels (for some frames) and then hit up Garden Ridge and Lowe's, where I finally found some awesome patio furniture for our front balcony (and it was on super sale!). I literally passed out at soon as I got home, but it was worth it! Here's what I scooped up at the sales...

Some Ball jar lids for my blue jars that are missing one.

Set of 6 Japanese mugs that I think are very Anthropologie-esque. They'll be for sale in the shop.

A navy and red stripe wallet...

And a brown-on-brown one.

A really pretty tapestry/corduroy clutch purse.

A beautiful vintage hat. The netting is pristine!

Two vintage bundt pans that I'll be hanging in the kitchen.

Mom got me these uber-kitschy utensils to hang on the wall. I'm gonna give them a little makeover.

A vintage apron that has a towel sewn onto the left front. I thought it was a clever idea.

And some beyond gorgeous prints from a well-known local artist, Fred Conway. They're all iconic places in St. Louis, so these two are the Planetarium and the Botanical Gardens.

A peek of Gaslight Square and the Art Museum.

These were by far my favorite find. I've already framed three of them for the living room (photos sometime this week!), and I am just beyond in love with his use of color. I also love the idea of having a lot of local art in our home. If you want to read more about him (which I highly suggest), click here. His estate sale was full of tons of amazing artwork that he'd owned, with a lot of it signed. I wish I could have snatched up more pieces, but I had to be budget-minded! :)

Stay tuned this week for some snapshots of our newly revamped front balcony, which is officially my new favorite place to hang out now that the heat and humidity have subsided (for now). In the meantime, I'm dying to know what goodies you found this weekend! Do share!

  6. Aren't they fun? I see them frequently at sales and never pick them up. I'm with you, I think the "fanciness" of this set was what finally made me cave. Thanks for stopping by, Becky!
