Hey all! Happy Monday! I'm ready to get through this week and be rewarded with a three-day weekend, how about you? This weekend was all over the place for me. The hubs was off in Wentzville doing a big job for
Wabash Days, so I was left to my own devices, which included catching up on some shows; some estate sales on Saturday; dinner with my mom and grandma at
Three Kings Public House in The Loop (if you haven't been, get your buns over there; the food is delish!); then Sunday I went to the
Wentzville Flea Market, stopped at a couple thrift stores on the journey back into the city (which included lunch at
Vegadeli in Chesterfield), then relaxed and worked a bit while watching Pride & Prejudice (BBC version).
Side note: When the hubs and I got married, him being the A/V snob that he is, refused to let any of my VHS tapes enter the house, so I had to leave my box set of P&P with my former roomies and have since be on the lookout for the DVD version, which I found at the flea market for $1! I love, love, love this movie. It's long, I know, but so true to the book that any other version just can't keep my attention.
Anywho, onto the finds!
 |
I keep finding these gorgeous hair-net hats and can't pass them up. |
 |
Two more lotus bowls! I have a set of orange ones in the shop right now. These, however, have the original Target stickers still on them, so now I finally know where they come from! |
 |
Some vintage letter blocks. It kinda shows a sign of the times that the cover of the book explicitly states that all the materials used to make them are "harmless to children." |
 |
A Princess Gardner wallet that will be heading to the store. I love the sophisticated pattern quilted onto the flap. |
 |
A funky little owl candle holder that will grace our living room (to the hubs's dismay). |
 |
Set of four Kelly green fabric napkins. There was a matching tablecloth, but the green was really faded, so I left it behind. |
 |
A couple Vera scarves. |
 |
A very '90s belt that I picked up with fall in mind. I can't believe this era of clothing is really making a comeback. |
 |
A jadeite juicer that I picked up at the flea market. |
 |
A set of more little recipe books! I picked this packet up because of the one on the front: "10 Cakes Husbands Like Best." Ha. |
 |
An enamel teapot that's in really excellent condition. Reminds me of the Dansk pots I have, but there are no marking on this, so I'm not sure who the maker is. Anyone? |
 |
And an old luggage rack with a beautiful teal stretch of fabric across the top. It's either going in the guest room and I'll put a "welcome kit" on top of it, or in the living room with a white lacquer tray on top to use as a side table. What do you think? |
Some of the non-vintage goodies I found were a sewing book; a Target bedskirt (finally) and two king Target pillowcases for our bed; a pan that bakes a dozen mini-loaves; a skirt; and some shoes.
All in all, a very successful weekend! What about you??

Love that luggage rack! I'm on the lookout for one, but haven't found one in a good condition yet.
ReplyDeleteOh great finds! I don't even know which ones to comment on, i like them so much! I think my favorite is the jadeite juicer! Such a great piece, in a great color!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend!
WOW I'm loving all these items! My hubby doesn't like my yellow teapot - perhaps he would prefer yours! The Owl is so funky! And I have a white lotus bowl which I scored for 10c! The blue is very cool.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance check out my blog, I really think you will like!

oo you found loads of vintage goodies this week, I've been wanting an enamel teapot but the ones I find are always rusted out. I'm fond of old cooking booklets too, they have some pretty far out recipes in them. I have some similar cage veil fascinators, I'm still trying to incorporate them into a few of my outfits. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that yellow pot. Fun funky finds.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of putting the luggage rack in the guest room with a welcome kit on top...very posh!
