This past weekend the hubs's parents were in town and we had loads of fun taking in a show by Darrell Scott at the Sheldon, eating breakfast at Lubeley's, going on the brewery tour at Anheuser-Busch, then dinner at Pi Pizzeria in the Loop.
Somehow, amid all that to and fro, I was able to squeeze in a couple estate sales early on Saturday morning. I hadn't been in two weeks and was seriously craving some thrift, so I picked up these little items (pardon the photos...they were taken at sunrise on Sunday before we left for L.A., so my natural light hadn't woken up yet, and, well, let's just say I'm not handy with a flash)...
Two more Butterfly Gold mixing bowls that leave me one short of the set. |
Two little milk bottles from local dairies in St. Louis that I think would be super cute as vases. |
A very '60s roll of contact paper (or shelf liner, or drawer liner...). |
Two more vintage handmade aprons that I'll be selling at the upcoming shows. |
And a box of vintage Christmas light bulbs that I'm going to try and incorporate into the Christmas decs this year. Any ideas? |
I also picked up a beautiful 100% wool belted sweater, but forgot to snap a photo! I guess you'll just have to look for it in the store when it launches on Black Friday!!
Your turn! What goodies did you pick up this weekend?

Love the bowls and imagining what they might make.
ReplyDeleteAlso really like the bottles
I've seen on Pinterest to glitter the bulbs and put them in jars - good idea and think I might try it. Love your Butterfly Gold!
ReplyDeleteGirl---we found the SAME Pyrex bowl! {and across the country}. Fun! Thanks for sharing via the Flea Market link up. XO, Kate
ReplyDeleteAs always I love your bargains, I found this idea (same as Jill above I think) on Pinterest for your Christmas bulbs http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2010/12/how-to_odds_n_ends_holiday_dec.html
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vintage finds, as always. I especially love the contact paper. Good luck with your work and travels. :)
ReplyDeleteYour milk bottles are so cute!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the Christmas bulbs come out - I thought they were snooker balls to start with!
Thanks for linking up x
Line up some small glasses and put a bulb or two or three in each. I've done this in windows and in glass-doored kitchen cabinets. I've got some teeny tiny ornaments that I toss in too, like sprinkles.
ReplyDeleteKate: Thank you! I hope they'll be making some delicious baked goods this holiday season! :)
ReplyDeleteJill and Chris: That is such a cute idea!! Thanks for sharing that with me. I'm going to file that one away in my "awesome idea" file.
Kate #2: How fun! I love that about thrifting. It's like you have a special connection with that person who thrifted the same thing! Yay!
Van: Thank you, dear girl. :)
Lizzie: Thank you! And thanks for hosting the link partay!
Anna: Oooo, another cute idea! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some cute clear vessels whilst I'm out in the thrift stores.
Thanks all for stopping by! :)
