Style Spots: Down, But Not Out

I knew coming up on this weekend that Sunday would be my only day for thrifting. Friday night and Saturday were spent setting up and selling at the Green With Indie show (which was awesome!), but by 3 p.m. Saturday, I started to feel real out of it: dizzy, nauseous and my stomach hurt a little. I attributed it to a lack of sleep and the stress of prepping for the show, but by the time I got home, things got much worse: chills, a fever and a night worshiping the porcelain gods (TMI?).

Needless to say, Sunday became a literal day of rest. Around 2:30 p.m., I forced myself out of bed, remembering that the pup was out of food. It was a warm rainy day, and as I was out in the fresh air, I started to feel a little better, so I stopped by a thrift store...and some estate sales (I know, I know...I was pushing my luck). Eventually I got super tired (no surprise there) and made my way home, where I spent the rest of the night on the couch watching movies until the hubs got home from his last-minute trip.

But I did find a little pile of goodies...so it was worth it...right? :)

A summery tote.

Really nice vintage leather purse...tall enough for those of you with an iPad (wink).

Vintage floor-length maxi dress.

More bags of vintage thread. It is SO much cheaper it is to get thread this way instead of new at the store.

I am in love with this painting, which was done by the lady whose estate sale it was.
Will go nicely in our living room!

A very large and really pretty crochet afghan with all the colors of the rainbow.

And more vintage reading! Issues of House & Garden and Better Homes and Gardens, plus a cook booklet.

Not too shabby for a sick girl! :) How about you? Score anything lovely this weekend?

  4. I really like that painting even though my home is full of pastels. I managed to buy so much this week, and all for so little. I would like to blame it on car boot season starting up again, but half of what i found were in the charity shops! Now ive just added all the photos to my blog i cant believe how much i came home with!
    Hope you feel better soon,
    Aqeela xx
