Sustainable Style: Spezzatino

A couple days ago I was perusing the old Twitter feed and came across a tweet from Covet Garden, talking about an online food magazine called Spezzatino. Intrigued, I clicked through and was excited to find out it was not only full of gorgeous food photography and really delish-looking recipes (all of which are photographed and written about by professionals donating their time), but all the proceeds from online subscriptions go to Healthy Food Bank, which distributes much-needed food aid to cities all across North America.

There have been 16 volumes so far, and each one is themed around a specific kind of food. To see if you like it, you can sign up for a free trial and over the next five days you'll be emailed pages and recipes from the first volume (all about tomatoes) that you can download and keep. After that, it's $5.99 a month to subscribe (or you can get a discount rate by paying for 12 months in advance). Sure, it's a little more than your standard glossy subscription, but you know where your money is going: to feed people.
