Friday Flair

So, as promised, I am finally putting myself in front of the camera (and pushing myself waaaay outside my comfort zone, mind you). I never really share Style Spots with you that I buy to wear myself, so I thought that's what Friday could become. A post showing you what (if anything) I picked up for myself at the thrifts. And if I didn't get anything, then maybe a snapshot of something I wore that week.

This past weekend was very fruitful as far as clothing for me. I mentioned I had gone out to Chesterfield on Sunday to hit up its plethora of Goodwills. The ones out there get a lot of new Target stuff, which is mostly what I picked up. But even past that, the clothing selection is quality. Now when I see something at Target that I like, I hold off, because I usually see it at Goodwill the next month for a fraction of the cost.

Anyway...let's just get this whole pictures of me thing over with... ;-)

Haha...like my concentration face? :) Ideally, I was going to have the hubs take these of me outside by the garage, where the light is a ton better, but the week just got too darn busy. I thought of doing it myself with the tripod and the timer function, but then I pictured myself running back and forth, taking millions of photos and having the neighbors wonder what new nonsense I was up to now. But I'm sure as I practice this more, the photos will get better. You'll just have to be patient. :)

Any of you gals (or guys) thrift up some new threads this week?

  3. Amazing finds, pretty girl! I'm sooooo camera shy, too, can completely relate, but you're rocking it - especially in that vintage LBD! I'm so jealous of the prices at your Goodwill, too. Looks like it's time to come back to St. Louis. ;) Thank Goodwill It's Friday, lady! Have a fabulous weekend. xx M

    1. Thanks, Emily! And yes, I am VERY lucky that our thrifts are still pretty much affordable. When I moved back here from the West Coast, it felt like I had won the lottery!

  8. Looks great! I've been surprised by what amazing things I can find at Goodwill if have no expectations. I've found that I'm also willing to try things that I would never imagine picking up at a retail store- and I love a lot of what I find.

    1. Thank you! And yes, that is SO true! It's so much easier to take some fashion risks when you're not breaking the bank to do it. One of the things I love most about shopping secondhand, and I'm so glad you feel the same!

  9. Like the vintage things the best--that black dress is awesome, and the striped skirt looks great with that green top! And I can relate to your camera issues. It's really hard to take pictures of yourself or even to have someone else take them (for me, anyway). Salute you pushing out of your comfort zone!
